WHAT IS SEROTONIN?

An Animated Short

(Brown University, 2022)

For a class called Communicating Science Through Animation, I worked with two incredible team members from RISD to create this short from ideation to final product. We were interested in exploring and explaining serotonin, a molecule increasingly mentioned in popular culture but is largely misunderstood.

I created a general production schedule, researched and wrote the script, planned sequences, contributed art and animation through Procreate, and designed the visual explanations for serotonin’s actions in the body and brain. I also edited the entire film across visuals and audio in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Produced preliminary storyboarding (above) and created a scene/frame tracking/request system

Designed the color map for the film

Read and synthesized scientific papers to write the script

Design Management: Growth Marketing

(HBO Max, 2022)

As the Design Management Intern, I primarily supported the Paid Media vertical in the complete process of marketing asset creation (from conception to delivery). I led 113 tickets and simultaneously supported many more, implementing the following process:

  1. Create ticket and present brief

  2. Create subitems and timeline

  3. Assign creatives (designers, copywriters)

  4. Send for approvals and edits

  5. QA and route for delivery
